Role Overview: The Director of Construction will be responsible for the overall leadership and strategic direction of the construction division in Huntsville, Alabama. This individual will oversee day-to-day operations, lead project management teams, and ensure all construction activities are executed efficiently, safely, and with a strong focus on quality and client satisfaction. The Director of Construction is a senior-level position for someone with a proven track record of managing teams, optimizing operations, and delivering successful commercial projects. Key Responsibilities: u2022Provide strategic leadership and vision for the construction project operations and strategic project planning. u2022Oversee and manage all phases of construction projects from pre-construction to closeout. u2022Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards. u2022Lead and mentor the third-party project management execution team. u2022Drive process improvements and operational efficiency across all project sites u2022Work closely with executive leadership to align project execution with company goals and strategic focus. u2022Oversee project budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and resource planning. u2022Serve as the primary point of contact for high-level client communications and project performance updates. u2022Build and maintain relationships with Leidos business sector organizations. Qualifications: u2022Bacheloru2019s degree and 15+ years of experience in commercial construction with a concentration on Manufacturing facility projects, with at least 5 years in a senior operations or executive-level role. Additional years experience may be used in lieu of a degree. Degree in in construction management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred). u2022Strong background in managing a diverse portfolio of commercial projects (e.g., classified projects, commercial office spaces, and manufacturing. u2022Proven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire teams across multiple projects u2022Deep understanding of construction operations, contracts, scheduling, and budgeting. u2022Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills u2022Strong business acumen and the ability to make data-driven decisions u2022Familiarity with construction management software and other Office 360 applications such as Excel, PowerPoint & MS Project.
