Infant and Toddler Teacher Assistant Job Details Level Entry Job Location Main Campus - Syracuse, NY Position Type Full Time Education Level High School Salary Range $17.00 - $17.00 Hourly Travel Percentage None Job Shift Day Job Category Education Description Position Statement:The Infant Teacher Assistant is responsible for sharing in the planning and caring for children in the Infant classroom. This person is responsible for sharing in the planning and daily programming for children in an infant classroom. This person will function as a team member for educational programming for children. This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position with benefits.Responsibilities:uf0b7 Participate daily in collaboratively planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities for both inside and outside (weather permitting) the classroom;uf0b7 Develop educational material necessary for daily activities;uf0b7 Maintain a nurturing, orderly, predictable and safe classroom and center environment;uf0b7 Maintain up-to-date child and/or classroom records;uf0b7 Develop professional, positive, and productive relationships with children, families, agency staff, visitors, outside agencies, and the general public;uf0b7 Disseminate information effectively to parents through daily contact, written correspondence, and/or parent conferences;uf0b7 Participate in the evaluation of children in the classroom regarding their developmental progress;uf0b7 Know and follow Day Care regulations;uf0b7 Cooperate with other staff members to maintain standards of professionalism throughout the center;uf0b7 Attend workshops, conferences, and in-service training programs as required;uf0b7 Perform other duties as assigned by the management team Qualifications Qualifications: Required Qualifications: uf0b7 High School Diploma or GED uf0b7 At least 1 year of Experience with young children uf0b7 Excellent communication skills uf0b7 Ability to express a supportive, caring demeanor to relate sensitively to children uf0b7 Understanding of behavioral principles uf0b7 Strong leadership and team building skills uf0b7 Ability to squat, crouch, kneel, bend, walk, sit and stand for prolonged periods of time uf0b7 Ability to lift 50lbs without assistance uf0b7 Flexibility to adapt to a variety of classroom settings Preferred Qualifications: uf0b7 Associateu2019s Degree (in relevant field), CDA or Certified as a Teacher Assistant
