Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a dynamic team in the insurance industry located in Jersey City, New Jersey. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in insurance or reinsurance accounting who are eager to contribute to financial operations and reporting. The position offers a hybrid work environment and requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent analytical skills. Responsibilities: u2022 Manage month-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. u2022 Oversee general ledger activities, including posting entries and maintaining account accuracy. u2022 Prepare and review journal entries to ensure proper documentation and compliance with accounting standards. u2022 Conduct account reconciliations to verify balances and resolve discrepancies. u2022 Handle bank reconciliations, ensuring the accuracy of transactions and financial records. u2022 Collaborate with teams to produce Schedule F reports for reinsurance-related activities. u2022 Analyze and input insurance accounting data into the general ledger system. u2022 Support audits by providing necessary documentation and resolving inquiries. u2022 Ensure reinsurance related SOX compliance with industry regulations and internal accounting policies. u2022 Prepare STAT Schedule F Filings Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. u2022 Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in reinsurance accounting, or 6 years in insurance accounting. u2022 Strong knowledge of insurance accounting practices and general ledger systems. u2022 Proficiency in preparing Schedule F reports and related reinsurance activities. u2022 Experience with month-end close processes, journal entries, and reconciliations. u2022 Advanced analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy. u2022 Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment. u2022 Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
