Job Description

Job Title: Gear Machine Operator Job Description As a Gear Machine Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating metal fabrication machines. You will maintain a clean and organized department while analyzing and interpreting travelers and blueprints. Your role will involve lining up tooling for machine production, completing all paperwork according to specifications, setting up vari-rolls for inspection, and making necessary size changes. Additionally, you will be expected to know the capabilities and limitations of machines and run multiple machines when able. Responsibilities + Set up and operate fabrication machines. + Maintain a clean and organized department. + Analyze and interpret travelers and blueprints. + Line up tooling for machine production and lead kits with required tooling. + Complete all paperwork to specifications. + Set up vari-rolls for inspection. + Analyze prints and requirements to determine speeds and feeds. + Fill out first article sheets. + Make necessary size changes. + Run multiple machines when able. Essential Skills + Proficiency in using micrometres and calipers for precision measuring. + Understanding of quality control and CNC machining. + Experience with gear cutting, machining, and the use of manual and CNC equipment. + Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues. + Familiarity with tool and die processes and grinding techniques. + Capability to provide lean manufacturing support. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockford, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $32.00/hr.
