Our dedicated team of physicians, nurses, clinicians and medical professionals are committed to delivering quality and compassionate care.Sterile Processing Tech I FTSHIFT: 2pm-10:30pmPosition SummaryResponsible for cleaning, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of instruments and equipment.The campus also includes the Women’s Medical Center, providing full-service care for women at all stages of life, including gynecologic surgery, maternity, and a labor and delivery unit with a Level III NICU. The center holds Advanced Certification in Perinatal Care from The Joint Commission.Essential FunctionsThe Sterile Processing Technician works under the direct supervision of the Sterile Processing Department (SPD) Operations Specialist, or SPD Supervisor, must be able to work cooperatively with other members of the Surgical and Sterile Processing Team.Demonstrates a sense of professionalism and ethical standards.Able to complete tasks as assigned and use theappropriate resourcesand references available for processing instrumentation and equipment.Using attained knowledge of sterilization processes, the Sterile Processing Technician will begin to learn to work independently in an ever-changing technical environment.Maintainsreasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent withBaptist Health andOrlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal,stateand local standards.Maintains compliance with allBaptist Health andOrlando Health policies and procedures.The Sterile Processing Technician may or may not becertified, orpossess completion status in theBaptist Health andOrlando Health SPD Core Course.Participates in all unit quality control activities.Demonstrates an understanding of the relationship of their role to patient care.Responsible for helping to maintain a safe environment for fellow team members as well as patients.Education/TrainingHighschoolgraduate or equivalent.Licensure/CertificationWithin first year of employment:Successful completion of theBaptist Health or Orlando Health SPD CoreCourse andmaintain12 continuing education points per year.ExperienceNone
