To promote and provide a warm, caring atmosphere in the waiting area by focusing on the needs of the family. Ensuring space is organized, neat, and clean and consistently appears welcoming. 2. Thoroughly orients parents and caregivers to the waiting area, key hospital functions and resources. 3. Responds promptly, appropriately, and professionally to patient/family and staff perceptions of and needs for care and services. 4. Uses problem solving and conflict resolution techniques to diffuse issues and negotiate satisfactory outcomes between employees, patients, families and visitors. 5. Collaborates with other AC departments (e.g., Social Work, Child Life, Pastoral Care, Environmental Services, Nursing, Security) in order to promptly address and resolve identified issues. 6. Participates in resource mobilization under the direction of Surgical Services and assists patients/families with paperwork for specific programs and resources, including lodging, meals, Ronald McDonald, educational information (i.e., Connection Center, AC Parent Resource Library). 7. Performs administrative tasks and duties efficiently and effectively 8. Completes projects for the department and enters statistical information into the computer. 9.
