Job Description

Loving first-time parents in West New York, NJ are seeking a long-term, live-out infant career nanny to care for their 3-month-old baby girl. They are currently practicing elimination communication (EC), and ideally, the candidate will have some experience and knowledge of the process or be willing to learn and be supportive. The family hopes to grow in the future and is looking for a candidate who is excited to remain with them as the role naturally evolves over time. Both parents work from home, so the nanny must be comfortable and experienced working within a home-based work environment. This is a collaborative household with both parents being hands-on. The general schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This is a local search, and only candidates already residing in the area will be considered.Include, but are not limited to:All aspects of full-charge infant care, including feeding, diapering (EC), bathing, sleep routine, and always ensuring the safety and well-being of the childTake the lead on EC, diapering, soothing for bedtime, and schedulingSupport sleep, meal routines, and food transitionsEngaging the child in age-appropriate play such as reading, singing, object tracking, sensory activities, and tummy timeEngage in outdoor activities, walks, and neighborhood explorationTrack developmental milestones and communicate progress to parents - Keep a nanny logChild-related housekeeping, laundry, toy sanitation, and sterilization of bottles and pump partsOrganization of the child’s room, spaces, and belongings - Keep areas tidyKeep an inventory of supplies for the nursery and restockAdhere to schedules and make appropriate adjustmentsStay informed about child development and safety practicesCreate an environment for the child to grow and thriveWarm, kind, and nurturingCollaborative and communicativeProactive and engagingIntuitive and thoughtfulPossess a true passion for children and their developmentTrustworthy, dependable, and professionalSelf-aware and observantOrganized and mindfulAdaptable, fun, and creativeWorks with discretionAbility to speak Chinese or Spanish would be a plus5+ years of prior experience in a similar role with an infant, including sole charge careOpen to working the occasional evening - some overtimeInfant CPR certifiedWilling to practice ECComfortable with work-from-home parentsUp-to-date vaccinations, flu, and TdapLegal to work in the U.SThe family is offering $45 to $55 per hour commensurate with experience, 4 weeks PTO, and negotiable medical benefits
