Description Our client is seeking an experienced Defense Litigation Paralegal to join their law firm in Columbia, South Carolina. Matters will be heavy in corporate defense litigation. This role focuses on supporting attorneys in corporate defense litigation, insurance defense, and jury trial preparation. u2022 Draft, review, and organize legal documents such as pleadings, discovery materials, and motions. u2022 Maintain and manage case files, calendars, and court deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail. u2022 Assist in deposition and trial preparation, including coordinating witnesses, preparing exhibits, and organizing trial materials. u2022 Conduct thorough legal research and compile clear and concise summaries of findings. u2022 Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and court personnel. u2022 Collaborate closely with attorneys to ensure all litigation tasks are completed efficiently. u2022 Provide support during jury trials, including handling trial logistics and documentation. u2022 Monitor case progress and ensure all deadlines are met. u2022 Use case management software to track and organize case information. u2022 Contribute to insurance defense litigation strategies and document preparation. Requirements u2022 5+ years of experience as a Paralegal in civil litigation or defense litigation. u2022 Proficiency in drafting legal documents and managing discovery processes. u2022 Strong organizational skills to handle complex case files and meet deadlines. u2022 Experience with trial preparation and jury trials. u2022 Familiarity with case management software and legal research tools. u2022 Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, attorneys, and court personnel. u2022 Ability to conduct detailed legal research and present findings effectively. u2022 Knowledge of insurance defense litigation practices and procedures.
