You will also serve as a critical key engagement lead to other channel stakeholders including News, Field Operations, Creative and Programming, ensuring successful delivery of production services to these internal client groups.u00a0 This role requires a leader who not only understands the technical and creative sides of production but can bring people together, foster trust, and help the entire operation grow stronger with each show.u00a0u00a0 If you enjoy working withu00a0and are creative at schedulingu00a0people, are a highly organizedu00a0leader with greatu00a0communication skills,u00a0know how tou00a0buildu00a0and leadu00a0high performanceu00a0teams, are an expertu00a0in studio productionu00a0with significantu00a0directing, have APCu00a0andu00a0tech managementu00a0experience, understand VR andu00a0possessu00a0au00a0clearu00a0visionu00a0tou00a0guaranteeu00a0successful and reliable On-air productions at a network level,u00a0thenu00a0we want to hear from you.u00a0 Responsibilitiesu00a0 + Responsible for overall technical execution and quality of all liveu00a0productions.u00a0 + Serve as the main operational bridge between News, Creative, Programming, Technology, and Studio Operations, ensuring constant alignment and early visibility into show needs and potential issues.u00a0 + Partner daily with producers, EPs, and creative teams to understand editorial intent, spot challenges in advance, and coordinate solutions before theyu00a0impactu00a0a live broadcast across technical and editorial teamsu00a0to ensure productions run smoothly.u00a0 + Lead, mentor, and grow the Studio Directors team, and partner with peers in the Operations management team in MOC and Newsgathering, creating a culture that prioritizes communication, accountability, and continuous improvement.u00a0 + Maintain deep working knowledge of core control room and studio systems including:u00a0 + Audio boardsu00a0 + Production switchers and routingu00a0 + Graphics workflows andu00a0XPressionu00a0 + Intercom/IFB workflowsu00a0 + Robotic cameras, prompters, APC/automation, AR/VR production systems + Oversee studio lighting systems, including knowledge of lighting techniques and ETC lighting consoles.u00a0 + Work proactively with News and Creative to test on-air elements, evaluate set/lighting/camera needs, and surface concerns early so they can be addressed beforeu00a0air.u00a0 + Collaborate closely with Engineering and Technology to resolve issues, implement updates, and integrateu00a0new technologiesu00a0into daily workflows.u00a0 + Serve as the primary day-to-day partner for NBC, Telemundo, and Digital requestsu2014ensuring clarity, follow-through, and operational consistency.u00a0 + Manage union-represented staff with fairness, consistency, and strong leadership.u00a0 + Lead hiring, onboarding, scheduling, performance feedback, and long-term staff development.u00a0 + Support planning and execution of breaking news, specials, long-form productions, and major events.u00a0 + Provide backup directing/control room support in emergency, disasteru00a0Recoveryu00a0or unexpected circumstances.u00a0 + Lead strategic planning and continuous improvement efforts,u00a0identifyingu00a0opportunities to streamline workflows and elevate on-air quality.u00a0 + Maintainu00a0local and network SOPu2019s, informing and training the teamu00a0on updates and workflow changes. + This is a live 24/7 broadcast operation and out-of-hours availability is often required. + Minimum ofu00a010u00a0years relevant experience, including a minimum of 3 years ofu00a0managing a studio or production team in a major market,u00a0large networku00a0environmentu00a0or productionu00a0service-basedu00a0environment.u00a0 + Bacheloru2019s degree inu00a0Media,u00a0Communications,u00a0IT, Journalism,u00a0Broadcastu00a0engineeringu00a0oru00a0equivalent experience.u00a0 + Experience working with union teams in a production setting.u00a0 + Strong knowledge of audio systems, switchers, graphics systems,u00a0XPression, intercom/IFB, routing, and control room equipment.u00a0 + Clear understanding ofu00a0contribution and distribution processes of OTA televisionu00a0 + Hands-on live studio production experience partnering closely with News and Creative teams to understand show design, editorial priorities, and production challenges.u00a0 + Working knowledge of studio lighting systems,u00a0designu00a0and ETC lighting consoles.u00a0 + Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple teams and turning editorial needs into technical and operational action plans.u00a0 + Responsibility and Accountability are key to success within this role.
