Founded in 2007, City University of New York (CUNY) Accelerated Study in Associate Programs (ASAP) is a comprehensive associate degree completion program that currently serves 25,000 students annually at nine CUNY colleges, including Kingsborough Community College. ASAP provides comprehensive and personalized supports and resources to students that remove barriers to full-time study, support academic momentum, and build a connected community. ASAP has proven to be one of CUNY's most successful initiatives, with students in the program graduating at a rate more than double that of similar students. ASAP has been rigorously evaluated and garnered national recognition, winning the 2020 Innovations in American Government Award from the Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government. Further information is available at Reporting to the ASAP Director, the Associate Director of Recruitment and Engagement is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating recruitment and engagement strategies and initiatives focused on the needs of new and continuing students. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: u2022 Develop, execute and evaluate in conjunction with the ASAP Director a comprehensive recruitment strategy aimed at reaching recruitment and enrollment targets u2022 Supervise full-time recruitment and engagement staff including serving as hiring and training manager of Student Ambassadors u2022 Develop, manage and update communication processes using CRM systems (currently Connect) for recruitment and student enrollment progress focused on tracking applicantsu2019 status, including newly recruited or previously enrolled ASAP students, residency, and financial aid eligibility for program enrollment u2022 Collaborate with the ASAP Director, Associate Directors, and campus partners in the development and implementation of high impact, early engagement and co-curricular programs that deliver outcomes aligned with the programu2019s mission and priorities to increase persistence and retention u2022 Manage new students through the enrollment process including invitations for advisement appointments, monitoring enrollment, and planning and managing the Summer/Winter Institute (invitations, tracking attendance, workshops, etc.) u2022 Cultivate and manage relationships with CUNY pre-matriculation programs and build and maintain relationships with high schools, HSE programs, and college advisors to strengthen recruiting pipelines u2022 Accurately and timely manage prospective student enrollment coding in CUNYFirst, through collaboration with the Director and Advisement Associate Directors u2022 Lead the Special Programs joint recruitment effort through close collaboration with College Discovery and KCC FLEX and oversee the programu2019s social media presence and communication efforts u2022 Foster and nurture collaborative relationships with the college's Enrollment Management and Marketing units to enhance the integration of ASAP into comprehensive campus marketing and recruiting strategies u2022 Serve as a key representative and point of contact to represent ASAP at external college access events and related conferences, internal enrollment and student success committees, meetings, and engagement initiatives and as the primary point of contact to present on ASAP at external college access events and related conferences u2022 Some evening and weekend hours may be required The Academic ASAP Program Manager will report to the Academic ASAP Program Director or his/her Designee. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in an appropriate discipline and six years related experience. The preferred candidate will have: u2022 Strong understanding of the needs and challenges facing students from diverse urban backgrounds u2022 Experience with recruiting students in higher education settings, pre-enrollment advisement, developing early engagement strategies and the financial aid process u2022 Experience managing a multi-faceted, fast paced, time-sensitive, and demanding student-focused and responsive operation serving both internal and external constituents u2022 Strong organizational, project management, written and verbal communication, and facilitation skills u2022 Excellent data and computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Suite, and aptitude to learn new systems as needed; Connect and CUNYFirst experience preferred u2022 Strong ability to communicate program requirements effectively to students u2022 Commitment to fostering student supportive experiences/environments u2022 Detail oriented with strong analytical, evaluation, research, writing and editing skills. u2022 Demonstrated ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, staff, faculty and community members u2022 Experience developing and implementing engagement activities supportive of academic and personal development as part of the college experience u2022 Familiarity with using social media tools/analytics One year of direct recruitment experience highly recommended.
