Job Description We are seeking a skilled machinist that has fabrication and design experience. This is a hands-on role requiring creativity, precision, and the ability to work with brass and other metals in a fast-paced environment. You will play a key role in building custom lighting fixtures from start to finish, ensuring quality and artistry in every piece. Responsibilities u2022Set up, operate, and maintain manual machining equipment including lathes, mills, drill presses, saws, tapping machines, and related tools u2022Machine, fabricate, and assemble architectural brass components, including hardware, decorative elements, fittings, trim, and custom parts u2022Perform metal forming operations such as bending, rolling, shaping, and hand-forming of brass and other metals u2022Interpret simple drawings, sketches, or dimensional specifications and translate them into complete, manufacturable products u2022Develop machining and forming strategies, including tooling selection, workholding methods, and sequence of operations u2022Perform layout, measuring, fitting, and assembly operations u2022Maintain tight tolerances while meeting high standards for surface finish, appearance, and consistency u2022Modify or refine designs during fabrication to improve function, aesthetics, or manufacturability u2022Perform finishing operations such as deburring, polishing, sanding, brushing, or preparation for patination or coating u2022Inspect completed parts to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards u2022Maintain machines, tooling, and a clean, organized work area u2022Follow all safety procedures, shop policies, and quality guidelines u2022Collaborate with supervisors, designers, and project stakeholders as needed to meet project requirements and deadlines We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
