Our divisions span Nano Analytics, Nano Surfaces & Metrology, Fluorescence Microscopy, and Spatial Biology.As a Manufacturing Engineer you will be responsible to build and test precision electronics assemblies. You will also be responsible for the integration, calibration, and testing of systems, accessories, and upgrades. You will also be responsible for repairing and testing items returned to the factory. This includes some evaluation/troubleshooting to a board level, soldering, part replacement, adhering parts for assembly, cleaning of parts, and some testing/calibration. This position includes trouble shooting and correcting of mechanical and electrical problems and requires skill in these areas. The individual collaborates with Manufacturing Engineers and Software Development to improve product quality and processes. The position requires the individual to actively create and maintain manufacturing documentation (work instructions, test procedures, repair procedures, etc.) to ensure product quality issues are addressed during final testing. The individual aids in determining root cause and implementing corrective actions related to product defects. The position requires on the spot trouble shooting and repair to ensure orders are shipped on time. You will work with Bruker’s Engineering and Product teams to drive new product development builds and support ongoing changes to existing products. You will participate and lead teams to ensure products are built to Bruker’s high standards of quality and performance.Electro-mechanical Assembly and TestSystem Integration, Testing, and CalibrationEnsure on-time completion of customer ordersRepair items returned to factory from customer, minimizing customer down-timeCreate and revise manufacturing documentation to support assembly, test, and repair activitiesWrite Engineering Change Orders to release and revise product documentation.Train others as required on assembly, test, and repair activitiesReport material and product defects in accordance with Bruker Processes, providing detailed defect reportsParticipate on New Product Introduction teams, representing Manufacturing, to provide input on Design for Manufacturing/Assembly (DFMA) and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA)Participate and lead Continuous Improvement ProjectsAbility to travel within US for initial training and future NPI collaboration activities.1st 6 months may require ~50% travel (All travel within CA)< 20% travel expected beyond 1st 6monthsMinimum Qualifications:Work independently, strong team player, detail oriented, organized, and hands-on.Ability to follow work instructions and processes.Able to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematicsMechanical and Electrical troubleshooting, root cause analysis, calibration, and repair skills.Hands-on assembly and test experience in a similar, highly engineered, low volume, high mix, capital equipment environment that includes mechanical, electronic, and software composition.Experience in writing work instructions and repair procedures.Ability to lift 50 poundsFluency in Microsoft Office products; Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, WordExperience explaining technical issues and influencing product and process design change with results/data, working with other engineering teams to arrive at solutions.Travel may be required ~6wks per year. Actual travel duration and frequency will depend on project requirements.Ability to use inspection and measurement equipment; calipers, micrometer, multi-meter, O-scope, etc.Ability to work in Clean Room EnvironmentExperience in manufacturing environment using ERP system and Document Control systems.Understanding of Non-conforming Material ProcessExperience in writing engineering change ordersUS Citizenship or Permanent ResidencyPreferred Qualifications:Ability to isolate and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.Experience with optics, fibers, and auto-handling systems.Experience with SAP ERP systemExperience with DFx methodologies; DFM, DFS, DFT, etc.Experience in DFMEA and PFMEA techniques.Knowledgeable in continuous improvementEducational Requirements:Candidate should have minimum of 7 years of related experience in a manufacturing assembly and testing environment.OR a B.S. in Engineering / Physics and 2+ years of experience.OR an AA in electro/mechanical field and 3+ years of experience.At Bruker, base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $64,000 and $113,000 and provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.
