Manage the physical environment of the unit u00b7 Receive, screen and redirect phone calls to appropriate staff/department. u00b7 Screen visitors before entering into womenu2019s services/NICU. u00b7 Open, sort and distribute correspondence. u00b7 Schedule Meetings and record minutes. u00b7 Maintain thorough documentation following hospital policy and procedures and JCAHO standards. 2. Appropriately utilize resources related to clerical duties u00b7 Use Meditech proficiently. u00b7 Use Secretary template within CPN proficiently. u00b7 Complete birth certificates, notarize birth certificates, enter into state system, collect checks and send to State of VA for processing. u00b7 Communicate with Obestrical practices and obtain prenatal records for patients planning on delivering at SRMC. u00b7 Communicate with preadmission testing, patients scheduled for upcoming procedures. u00b7 Maintain patient schedule book, be able to schedule procedures on unit. u00b7 Review and enter billing charges daily. u00b7 Enter Kronos when needed. 3. Effectively communicate pertinent information to appropriate individuals u00b7 Accurately maintain the patient medical record: use universal chart order and prepare admission/discharge charts as indicated. u00b7 Ensure timely and accurate communication of patient information with all members of the treatment team. 4. Maintain and communicate with staff and visitors u00b7 Assist charge nurse in maintaining efficiency on the units. 5. Order and maintain appropriate levels of supplies u00b7 Monitor and order office supplies. u00b7 Monitor and order special order medical supplies u00b7 Monitor and order nourishment supplies. u00b7 Monitor and order specialty forms. 6. Compile daily/monthly statistical reports u00b7 Prepare statistical reports. u00b7 Collect and report monthly quality information (i.e code cart logs, terminal cleaning logs, transporter log) 7. Participatein orientation of new employees u00b7 Represent the unit at hospital committee meetings as assigned and report actions. EDUCATION u00b7 Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
