The responsibility of the Maintenance Scheduler requires the planning and scheduling of maintenance jobs for electricians and mechanics, as well as contractors. The Scheduler also works directly with Maintenance Leaders, Reliability Planners, and Schedulers in other areas to plan and develop schedules for maintenance and expense project work. In addition, the Scheduler provides materials, drawings, work orders, work schedules, instructions, and maintenance manuals asrequired.A primary responsibility of this position is administering and coordinating themaintenanceworkflow.This will be accomplishedthrough the use ofimproved preventive and predictive maintenance techniques and improved maintenance work plans.The Scheduler must work closely with all plant maintenance personnel to ensure maintenance activities are completed asplannedand the equipmentoperatesin a reliable manner.Responsibilities:Embrace the Novelis Safety Absolutes to build a zero-injury culture and the Novelis cultural beliefs of Be Authentic, Say Anything, Be Open and Built TrustOwn all maintenance work in schedulers' backlog and continuously work towards improving work management metricsWork with department resources to ensure rebuild work orders have clear direction on what repair is needed and are scheduled for repair (internal and external)Acquireinitial work order labor estimatesReconcile all work orders from uptime and downtime, working withappropriate crewleaders and associate leaders from maintenanceAssistcrew leaders and associate leaders in finding the right maintenance work to fill production holes.Develop andmaintainuptime, down day, and major/minor shutdown maintenance schedules (load leveled to available resources)Report metrics asrequested.Develop a working understanding of the equipment within the department tofacilitatethe scheduling process.Develop and coordinate Gantt chart schedules for semi-annual and annual outages.Determineworkforce availability andidentifyresource gaps foraccomplishingrequired workProcess notifications into work orders (using minimal scheduling steps)Conduct schedule review meeting with operations,engineersand maintenance coordinators / crew leadersSet andmaintainaccuratestatus and coding of work ordersDevelop rough schedule at least 2 weeks in advance with required labor hoursidentifiedConduct backlog review and prioritization meetings with Engineers, Coordinators, OperationsCoordinate shared resource needs with other manufacturing maintenance departments and central maintenance to support plant priorities and needsCommunicate maintenance schedules (draft and final) with operations, maintenance leaders (incl. associates), and engineers asrequiredDevelop and publish final maintenance schedules and print work orders (min. 1 weekday in advance for down day)Minimum Qualifications:HS Diploma/GED or 5 yrs industrial experiencerequiredAbility to work with operations, maintenance, engineering, other departments, and leadership (all levels of the organization)Departmentspecific experience in maintenance, engineering, or operations (5 or more years preferred).Demonstrated passion for getting the right maintenance work done at the right time.Ability to learn SAP specific transaction requirementsAbility to follow standard procedures on scheduling processAbility to communicate effectively across all subject areas in the departmentCommunication and organization skillsExperience with excelPublic speaking skills for holding meetingsPreferred Qualifications:2 Year Degree in a related fieldSAP experienceGeneral mechanical/electrical experiencePhysical Requirements:Near constant standing with frequent walking and occasional sittingOccasional below waist level work, climbing, balancing, carrying, reaching over 15” away from the body, reaching above shoulder, fine motor skills, use of forceful motion, push/pull andlifting upto 35lbsAbility to meet the physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodationAble and willing to work at heightsWhat We Offer:Novelis' benefits say a lot about how we care for each other.
