Description Amanda Warren with Robert Half is looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a great company in the South Sacramento area. In this position, you will play a key role in managing accounts receivable, reconciling financial records, and ensuring compliance with tax filings across multiple states. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic accounting team while gaining exposure to various aspects of financial operations. Responsibilities: u2022 Reconcile cash and accounts receivable transactions across multiple entities to ensure accuracy. u2022 Process adjustments to accounts receivable and prepare journal entries as required. u2022 Monitor and manage bad debt write-offs and maintain the allowance account. u2022 Perform balance sheet reconciliations to verify financial data integrity. u2022 File sales tax returns and business fees for multiple states in compliance with regulations. u2022 Prepare and post payroll-related journal entries, including commissions and medical expenses. u2022 Support audit processes by providing necessary documentation and assistance. u2022 Serve as a backup for the senior accountant, assisting with fixed assets and other team responsibilities. u2022 Utilize accounting software such as AS400 and Sage300 to manage financial data efficiently. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, with a strong focus on accounts receivable and reconciliations. u2022 Proficiency in creating journal entries and handling adjustments/write-offs. u2022 Familiarity with month-end processes, including sub-ledger reconciliation to the general ledger. u2022 Experience with accounting software such as AS400 and Sage300. u2022 Advanced knowledge of Excel for data analysis and reporting. u2022 Understanding of multi-state sales tax filings and compliance requirements. u2022 Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in financial record-keeping. u2022 Ability to collaborate effectively within an accounting team and provide support when needed.
