Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our team in Lenexa, Kansas. This role involves managing accounts payable and billing processes, ensuring accuracy in financial records, and supporting project managers with timely invoicing. The ideal candidate will have expertise in construction accounting and a strong ability to collaborate across multiple departments. If you or someone you know comes with construction experience in a Project Accountant capacity and are looking for a great company where employees are truly taken care of, please contact Melissa Valenzuela at 816-601-1192 for more details Responsibilities: u2022 Process vendor invoices, ensuring all purchase orders, receiving documents, and invoices are accurately matched. u2022 Manage Kansas and Missouri sales tax documentation and compliance. u2022 Reconcile vendor statements regularly, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly. u2022 Maintain organized and up-to-date accounts payable records. u2022 Respond to vendor inquiries professionally and in a timely manner. u2022 Prepare accurate tax documents for vendors in accordance with regulations. u2022 Generate invoices for multiple project managers, ensuring timeliness and precision. u2022 Collaborate with the Controller and Assistant Controller on special assignments as needed. Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent industry experience. u2022 Minimum of 2u20135 years of accounting experience, preferably in industrial construction. u2022 Solid understanding of job costing, T& M billing, labor tracking, and construction accounting. u2022 Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong data analysis capabilities. u2022 Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with project managers, field supervisors, and vendors. u2022 Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic work environment. u2022 High level of attention to detail and problem-solving skills. u2022 Familiarity with construction accounting software such as Foundation Software is preferred.
