Their work includesetting up the scenery, lights, sound, props, rigging, and special effects for a production.This role will pay an hourly rate of $16.00 to $18.00.For Part-Time roles: Benefits: 401(k) savings plan and 401(k) matching.This position will remain open until April 10, 2026.The mission of the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts is to enrich the lives of residents and guests by providing great and diverse performances, experiences, and educational programs for the arts. In doing so, the Sandler Center will serve as a home for regional and community arts organizations that contribute to the arts and culture of Virginia Beach.Assist in setup, teardown, and loading of venues for events, conferences, and conventions; set up stage, lighting, sound, and special effects systemsClean and maintain staging areas and /or staging equipmentCoordinate with event production and management staff to ensure that all staging, equipment, and facilities are set up properlyManually lift and move all staging, rigging, lighting, and special effects Perform other duties as assignedMust provide your own crescent wrench and multi-toolKnowledge of theater construction and riggingExcellent communication skillsAbility to deal with the public, guests, and employees in a highly stressful environmentAbility to schedule in advance, work nights/holidays/weekends, show up on time with a positive attitudeAt OVG, we understand that to continue positively disrupting the sports and live entertainment industry, we need a diverse team to help us do it.
