Description We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to join our team in New Canaan, Connecticut. This role is a contract position with the potential for a long-term opportunity, offering a dynamic work schedule throughout the year to accommodate seasonal needs. The ideal candidate will thrive in a supportive environment and possess a strong foundation in accounting and administrative tasks. Responsibilities: u2022 Process accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timely payments for under 100 invoices per week. u2022 Manage accounts receivable duties, including recording cash receipts, applying check payments, and updating member payment records. u2022 Handle member billing processes with attention to detail and accuracy. u2022 Maintain office supplies and oversee general administrative tasks as needed. u2022 Collaborate effectively in a team-oriented workplace environment. u2022 Utilize organizational accounting software to manage financial records and transactions. u2022 Ensure proper coding and reconciliation of invoices and bank statements. u2022 Provide support during peak seasonal periods by adapting to both extended and part-time schedules. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting or a related field. u2022 Proficiency in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. u2022 Familiarity with bank reconciliations and invoice coding. u2022 Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently. u2022 Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. u2022 Comfortable working in a family-oriented setting. u2022 Experience with accounting software or systems is preferred. u2022 Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
