The team is seeking an Electrical Technician intern that can join the team for approximately 12 weeks. The person in this role will have the opportunity to participate in meaningful work and gain hands-on industry experience. The person in this role will report to the EMRA Leader and will gain experience in Automation Technology in a manufacturing environment.Responsibilities & QualificationsResponsibilitiesShadow and assist qualified electricians performing the following:Uses Siemens S7-1500F series of PLC for troubleshooting process and equipment related problems through TIA portal.Get acquitted to the utilization of iBA data acquisition systemGet to know aluminum process associated with scalper, Pusher Furnaces and rolling mills.Use specialized measuring and diagnostic devices to evaluate equipmentInstall, maintain and repair electrical, electromechanical, and electronic parts of machinery and equipmentPerform repair and preservation of field, plant and shop for electronic and electrical systems, equipment, and devicesRead and interpret blueprints, schematics and wiring diagramsPlan and prepare work orders or instructions utilizing blueprints, sketches, and drawingsReceive training in electrical safety and other electrical/maintenance dutiesQualificationsEnrolled in an accredited 2-year Automation or Mechatronics technology programInterested in gaining hands-on industry experience prior to graduationEffective interpersonal and communication skills which are essential for interacting with all levels of the organizationMust be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employerPreferred QualificationsSiemens PLC knowledgeSiemens TIA PortalNetwork knowledge (Cisco equipment)Siemens VFD drivesSolid computer skillsNovelis' newly announced Bay Minette facility will be located 35 miles northeast of Mobile AL and 45 miles west of Pensacola FL and is expected to create approximately 1000 high-paying advanced careers in modern manufacturing. This highly advanced rolling and recycling facility will be the first of its kind. It will primarily serve our customers in the beverage can and automotive markets.
