Location This position is based in Idaho Falls, ID (Scoville, ID-Naval Reactor Facility). Responsibilities u2022 Promote and maintain effective communications and relations (verbally and in writing) with district management, project management teams and engineers/clients as required. u2022 Examine and inspect field conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies and cost saving measures that arise or that may be encountered; take corrective action as needed. u2022 Listen to employee and supervisor suggestions, complaints, problems, safety concerns and recommendations, evaluate each and then devise and implement a plan of action based on that evaluation. u2022 Identify potential safety hazards and take all necessary corrective actions to eliminate or minimize them. u2022 Maintain a thorough knowledge of the KNS Quality Management System and procedures and promote standardization. u2022 Develop and complete Welding Procedure Qualification Records and Welding Procedure Specifications. u2022 Manage Welding Procedure Specification log and files for assigned districts. u2022 Stay abreast of and promote state of the art and innovative welding techniques, special processes and procedures. u2022 Research technical welding matters and distribute reference material to support the district and projects. u2022 Assist in conducting project quality audits and reports. u2022 Manage American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Master Data Reports and Repair Report processing and registration with the National Board. u2022 Train and mentor junior welding engineers and technicians. #LI-LH1 Qualifications u2022 At least four yearsu2019 engineering or science degree or technical college degree plus two yearsu2019 experience in related construction field u2022 Working knowledge of AWS D1.1 (required). AWS CWI (required). u2022 Working knowledge of construction practices, construction codes (ASME, AWS, ACI, etc.) and non-destructive examination procedures (VT, RT, UT, PT, MT) (desirable) u2022 Excellent communication and technical writing skills, ability to research and work with detailed/technical matters and convey/explain the information to field personnel u2022 Ability to work in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and SharePoint software programs as well as able to quickly learn other software applications u2022 Strong organizational skills and the ability to perform a variety of tasks with deadlines and potentially frequent interruptions Other Requirements: u2022 Regular, reliable attendance u2022 Work productively and meet deadlines timely u2022 Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment. u2022 Perform work safely and effectively.
