The AW-DED-P Group is looking for an Engineering Intern to support our engineers and technicians with project work, and to perform tasks that allow the group to operate more efficiently as a whole. During the program, interns will transition from a technical labor-based position to that of a functioning engineer, gaining exposure to different industries and technologies along the way.Minimum RequirementsKNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:Desire to work in hands-on lab environment and research environmentEducation and experience in arc welding and/or robotic programmingStrong interpersonal communication skills and ability to effectively present to a groupProven adaptability and flexibility as a part of a teamSolutions-oriented mindsetSeeking to learn from leading minds in innovationHands-on arc welding experience desiredProficient in MS OfficeExcellent written and verbal communication abilitiesPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Laboratory/light production floor with ventilation, climate-control system, moderate lighting, and moderate noise level;Use finger dexterity to type, adjust, move, handle, perform, operate, install, attach, remove, apply, grasp, manipulate, and measure;Frequently move, transport, rotate, reach, pull, twist, adjust position, push, stoop, bend, and crouch; andLift 10 to 40 pounds on a frequent basis and 40 to 80 pounds occasionallyENGINEERING CURRICULUM REQUIREMENTS:Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in engineering at an accredited universityEngineering disciplines preferred:WeldingAutomationMaterials ScienceMechanicalOther relevant areas of studyEXPORT CONTROLS - This position requires access to information and technology that is subject to U.S. export controls.
