Electrical EngineerPosition Overview We are seeking a handsu2011on Electrical Engineer with strong embedded systems expertise to support the design, development, and manufacturing transition of electronic hardware for portable, batteryu2011powered medical devices. This role sits within a close-knit systems group and will focus heavily on portable, lithium-ion battery-based designs. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable with hardware and firmware development, enjoys working in a collaborative, familyu2011oriented environment, and can manage multiple engineering tasks from concept through production. Responsibilities + Design, prototype, test, and transition electronic circuits and systems to manufacturing + Develop and maintain schematic designs, PCB documentation, and fabrication files + Support the design of cable harnesses and electronic interfaces + Troubleshoot and improve existing hardware and firmware designs + Collaborate closely with crossu2011functional teams on multiple projects simultaneously + Ensure designs meet performance, quality, and manufacturability requirements Mustu2011Have Qualifications + Bacheloru2019s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering (BSEE or equivalent) + 5+ years of experience designing, prototyping, and troubleshooting analog and digital circuits + Handsu2011on hardware AND firmware design experience + Experience developing firmware in lowu2011level and higheru2011level programming languages + Proficiency with microcontrolleru2011based designs (e.g., ATMega, PIC) + Experience with schematic capture and circuit design + Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset + Ability to support designs through manufacturing transition Highly Preferred / Nice to Have + Proficiency with OrCAD Capture for schematic design + Experience with PCB layout tools (Allegro) or managing outsourced board layout + Experience with 8u2011bit microcontrollers + Familiarity with portable, batteryu2011powered systems + Medical device, commercial electronics, scientific, or defense industry Technical Skills & Experience + Embedded controls and firmware development + Realu2011time analog and digital signal acquisition and processing + PCB design and layout support + Motor drive and control systems + Onu2011board data logging + Digital interfaces such as USB, I2C, and RSu2011232 + Camera sensor interfacing (preferred) + Cable harness and interconnect design Work Environment & Culture + Familyu2011owned, closeu2011knit engineering team + High collaborationu2014engineers work closely across disciplines + Businessu2011casual dress code + New facility with continued company growth + Strong opportunity to have longu2011term impact as the systems group scales Why This Role? + Work on cuttingu2011edge portable lithiumu2011ion battery designs + Join a growing organization with a supportive, handsu2011on culture + Contract role with strong potential for extension based on performance Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Ronkonkoma, NY.
