Sterile Processing Tech - Certified Responsibilities: Responsible for the decontamination, prepping, packaging and sterilization of all instrumentation processed through the department following established department procedures. Acts as preceptor, mentor and resource in support of department team members. Required specific skills also includes knowledge of decontamination processes, preparation, and packaging, sterilization techniques based on manufacturer recommendations, and storage of sterilized items, as well as knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field set-up and interpreting policies, procedures, and protocols and reviewing performance in compliance with recognized standards.
