Description We are looking for a dedicated Accounting Assistant to join a reputable non-profit organization in Indianapolis, Indiana. This Contract to permanent position offers a flexible part-time schedule of 10-15 hours per week during regular business hours, Monday through Friday. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in QuickBooks and accounting practices, contributing to the team with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality. Responsibilities: u2022 Input vendor invoices into QuickBooks with precision and timeliness. u2022 Prepare checks and wire transfers using QuickBooks. u2022 Record incoming payments and receipts in QuickBooks. u2022 Perform cash and bank account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy. u2022 Maintain and update member database information efficiently. u2022 Reconcile accounts and assist with balance sheet reviews. u2022 Generate ad-hoc reports and aid in month-end close processes. u2022 Uphold financial confidentiality and ensure compliance with organizational policies. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience involving QuickBooks. u2022 Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with intermediate-level skills. u2022 Ability to adhere to a consistent, part-time schedule. u2022 Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks. u2022 Commitment to maintaining confidentiality in financial matters. u2022 Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations. u2022 Familiarity with CRM systems is a plus. u2022 Effective communication and organizational skills.
