Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team on a contract basis in South Jordan, Utah. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in automotive dealership accounting, financial statement preparation, and vehicle titling processes. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational and problem-solving skills, ready to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: u2022 Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger activities, payroll, and inventory reconciliation. u2022 Prepare and deliver accurate financial statements and reports for dealership management review. u2022 Supervise all aspects of vehicle titling processes, ensuring compliance and resolving any documentation or submission issues. u2022 Leverage dealership management systems for accounting tasks; familiarity with Dealertrack is highly advantageous. u2022 Maintain adherence to automotive industry regulations and internal financial controls. u2022 Oversee cash management processes, including banking activities and reconciliations. u2022 Collaborate with sales, service, and parts departments to streamline financial procedures and reporting. u2022 Provide training, mentorship, and support to the accounting team to enhance performance. u2022 Assist with audits, budget preparation, forecasting, and specialized financial projects. u2022 Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end close processes. Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. u2022 Proven experience as a Controller or Senior Accountant within an automotive dealership. u2022 Hands-on knowledge of vehicle titling processes in a dealership environment. u2022 Expertise in preparing and analyzing financial statements and reports. u2022 Familiarity with Dealertrack or similar dealership management systems is preferred. u2022 Comprehensive understanding of automotive accounting principles and industry compliance. u2022 Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities. u2022 Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work independently in a dynamic setting.
