We welcome you on finding your place to offer opportunities for people in needGENERAL STATEMENT:The Salvation Army is a branch of the Christian Church, and the ultimate goal of all programs is spiritual regeneration of all people.The Salvation Army is an equal opportunity employer.SCOPE OF POSITION:Provide support to the department to help ensure that the needs of the Center clients are served.The Salvation Army Center of Hope program provides 24/7 enhanced shelter and related services for adults experiencing homelessness. Participants are typically people who have been identified as high needs adults who are eligible for supportive permanent housing through outside agencies. Many clients have chronic and acute mental illness, active addiction issues, and/or trauma. This is a low-barrier, harm reduction program. Advocates are responsible for providing direct service to their participants, assisting with the goal of moving their participants quickly into permanent housing and fostering a team environment among center staff.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Check in Center guests from Check in sheet providedDistribute LinensEnsure that guest list is accurate and completePermit only guests assigned access to the CenterMaintain Center Logs BookComplete daily data reports and other reports as requiredContact Police, Medics or Fire Department by calling 911 as neededEvacuate the building when necessary, ensuring all guests are accounted forWrite reports of all incidents and accidentsReport any cases of suspected abuse or injury immediately to a supervisor or office staffReport any needed repairs or supply requests to supervisor or business administratorCustomer service mindsetEnforce building and program rules and policy.Attend staff meetings, workshops, and in-service classes as provided.Maintain accurate record of hours worked and turn in timesheets on schedule.General knowledge of business protocolsPerform other tasks as necessary as assigned or requested by your supervisorEDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:High School Diploma or the equivalentPrevious work experience in programs that work with individuals with higher levels of needCPR certified2 years of customer service experienceKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:Demonstrates the necessary attitudes, knowledge and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in multi-cultural situations.Contribute to and support a positive, team-oriented work environment.Maintain a safe and comfortable Center environment, including physical set-up and light janitorial duties, when necessary.Work as a team with other colleagues on shift and be able to work independently without direct supervision.Support and contribute to a creative, collaborative and resp
