OverviewRising Ground is a leading nonprofit human services organization providing children and adults plus families in the greater New York City area with the resources and skills needed to help them rise above adversity and positively direct their our Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Services department. We provide habilitation and recreational services plus job training for meaningful work and supported housing for those who need assistance to live in the community. SUMMARYThe Residential Manager oversees the operation of two Individualized Residential Alternatives IRA which are group homes for individuals with intellectual disabilities under the oversight of the Office of People with Developmental Disabilities OPWDD.Responsibilities.Serve as a member of the IDD Department Leadership Team.Model IDD departments vision of excellence and putting people supported at the core of our values and efforts.Directly supervise two assistant Managers and two teams of Direct Service Professionals.Work with the Quality Improvement Team to ensure the best outcomes for programs and people supported.Manage the finances and budgets of the assigned IRAs.Provide coaching and mentoring plus train and develop staff towards excellence.Provide operational oversight to the IRAs including physical plant and ensuring they are in compliance with all OPWDD regulations.Be a positive resource to people supported families and members of the team as needed.Additional duties as assigned. supervising employees.Experience working with people with Intellectual Disabilities Strongly Preferred.Knowledge of OPWDD Regulations and Policies Strongly Preferred.Outstanding Leadership Skills.Experienced in facilitating meetings.Skilled in facilitating communication between diverse interdisciplinary teams and fortable with technology.Ability to work independently.Excellent communication skills written as well as verbal.Valid Drivers LicenseQualifications. Bachelors Degree. Two or more years of experience in a management capacity in a human services organization directly supervising employees. Experience working with people with Intellectual Disabilities Strongly Preferred. Knowledge of OPWDD Regulations and Policies Strongly Preferred. Outstanding Leadership Skills. Experienced in facilitating meetings. Skilled in facilitating communication between diverse interdisciplinary teams and stakeholders. Comfortable with technology. Ability to work independently.
