Adecco is recruiting for a Toolmaker for a client in East Syracuse, NY . This position is a direct hire opportunity, paying $27-36/hour. Job Responsibilities: + Computes dimensions, plans layout, and determines manufacturing methods and sequence of operations for assigned tasks. + Sets up and operates manual machine tools such as lathes, mills and grinders to machine parts, and verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications. + Examines standard or previously used tools and jigs and fixtures or other such items and recommends design modifications regarding construction and function of tools and fixtures. + Develops specifications from general descriptions for specialty tools and draws or sketches design of product as required. + Uses precision measurement instruments such as micrometers, height gauges and calipers to ensure all work meets the required specifications. + Adjusts, troubleshoots and repairs worn or broken tooling, fixtures, jigs, gauges, etc. + Assists Manufacturing and Engineering with machining, finishing and assembly processes. + Participates in job launches. + Meets quality and quantity standards for the position + Adheres to all safety policies and practices, consistently uses personal protective equipment, and practices good housekeeping. + Maintains regular on time attendance and adheres to company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct. + Proactively supports the ISO process approach to quality management and the Syteline MIS system. + Performs other tasks as directed. Educational, Experience Based, and Skill Qualifications + Journeyperson Toolmaker with ten (10) years of shop experience. + Strong attention to detail. + Good verbal and written communication skills + The ability to work independently and as part of a team + Good math skills + Ability to read and interpret blueprints and utilize a wide variety of gauges and measurement tools. Physical Requirements Ability to walk, remain on feet for extended time periods, reach, stoop. Kneel and lift up to and including 50 pounds as needed. Visual abilities and manual dexterity.
