Description We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in Fairfield, California. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who will oversee key financial processes, ensure accurate reporting, and contribute to the overall efficiency of the accounting function. Responsibilities: u2022 Lead the month-end close process, including reviewing financial drafts and identifying variances against budget. u2022 Consolidate financial statements across multiple entities, ensuring accurate representation of intercompany activities. u2022 Coordinate and manage audit processes, including bank and year-end audits, while collaborating with team members to fulfill data requests. u2022 Assist in preparing annual budgets and contribute to financial planning initiatives. u2022 Monitor daily cash management activities, analyzing current standings to determine payable priorities. u2022 Apply cost accounting principles to support operational decisions and cross-train with other accounting roles. u2022 Oversee the accounts payable cycle, addressing vendor inquiries and ensuring timely processing of payments. u2022 Develop and maintain freight tracking reports to analyze cost trends by customer and route. u2022 Maintain a fixed asset tracker, tagging and systematically recording assets for monthly reporting. u2022 Perform additional duties as required to support the overall finance and accounting function. Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting or a related field. u2022 Minimum of five years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a food manufacturing environment. u2022 Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). u2022 Proficiency in manufacturing cost accounting practices and financial analysis. u2022 Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and complex data manipulation. u2022 Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities, with acute attention to detail. u2022 Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across departments. u2022 Experience managing confidential data in a fast-paced environment while meeting strict deadlines.
