The Clinical Coordinator will serve the Sonography Program at New York School of Career and Applied Studies in all clinical education capacities, as well as provide scan lab and didactic instruction.Correlate and coordinate clinical education and evaluate its effectivenessEvaluate the progress of student performance in the clinical areaWork with the Program Director in coordinating clinical educationSupervise student performance at clinical affiliatesManage the clinical courses, re: assignment of sites to students, grading, attendance, logsheets, evaluations, etcEntering grades into university learning management systemDevelop student objectives and evaluation tools for clinical educationPerform competency based clinical evaluationsMaintain student clinical assignments and attendanceAct as resource to sonography studentsResponsible for schedule of student clinical assignments to match established JRDMS guidelinesAssist in continuous program assessmentInstruct specific units of teaching as necessary, both in the didactic and scan lab settingMaintain current knowledge of program policies, procedures, and student progressPursue continuing education in profession practice and instructional methodologyCooperate with the Program Director in periodic review and revision of clinical course materialProvide training and education to clinical preceptorsProvide advisement to studentsProvide advisement and training to clinical supervisorsIdentify and contract with clinical affiliates for sonography clinical educationDuties as assignedEducation/ExperienceAssociates Degree required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.Hold appropriate professional credentials if applicable.Previous teaching experience preferred.Minimum 2 years sonography scanning work experience, preferred.ARDMS registry in Abdomen and/or OBGYN, required.
