Job Description The Mortgage Loan Originator is responsible for proactively soliciting new residential mortgage business through internal and external sources in an assigned geographic area. This individual will participate in business related development opportunities, professional organizations, and community efforts to promote homeownership. Essential Functions u2022 Ensure compliance with third party agencies and vendors u2022 Ensure exceptional customer service experience throughout the loan origination process. u2022 Interact with other team members and other departments in a professional manner u2022 Submit complete credit applications with supporting documentation u2022 Develop and maintain successful relationships with internal and external referral sources u2022 Prospect new mortgage lending opportunities u2022 Facilitate communication activities with customers and referral sources during loan origination process u2022 Review applications, credit files, and customer qualifications to determine appropriate loan products and pricing u2022 Counsel and coach loan applicants to assist them towards their goals and to deliver the best loan products for their needs u2022 Request timely loan rate locks for Secondary Marketing u2022 Maintain up-to-date knowledge of loan products including conventional, portfolio, FHA,VA, USDA-Rural Housing programs and secondary market rules u2022 Achieve production and quality goals u2022 Cross-sell other Northwest products and services to loan applicants Additional Essential Functions u2022 Ensure compliance with Northwestu2019s policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulations u2022 Navigate Microsoft Office Software, computer applications, and software specific to the department in order to maximize technology tools and gain efficiency u2022 Work as part of a team u2022 Work with on-site equipment QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
