We are seeking a Stress/Analysis Senior Engineer to support the development of new energetic products, adaptive engineering of existing energetic product lines and sustaining current energetic product lines. The Stress/Analysis Engineer will be involved in all phases of the product life cycle, including proposal preparation, product brainstorming sessions, design support, supplier support, and manufacturing support with design and non-conforming material analysis. The position is expected to participate in continuous improvement activities, be capable of leading efforts, creating detailed plans and providing recommendations for complex technical issues in the department. Our facility manufactures and tests explosive, propellant, and cartridge-actuated devices. What You Will Do + Perform structural and ballistic analyses of components and assemblies designed for aircraft escape systems, launch vehicle flight termination systems, commercial gas generators, and missile systems. + Address complex and challenging problems through the development and application of static, dynamic, implicit, and explicit finite element models with limited oversight. + Develop material models for non-linear materials, including composite propellants, manufactured on-site. + Apply a general understanding of multiple engineering disciplines, including mechanical design, systems, and materials, to support analysis activities. + Communicate analysis results and recommendations effectively to a variety of audiences, both internal and external to the organization. + Leverage analysis expertise to support propulsion projects during proposal, development, qualification, production, and test phases, including leading and contributing to failure investigations throughout these phases. + Plan and execute structured experiments, such as Analysis Design of Experiments (DOE), to evaluate and support design concepts.
