This includes but is not limitedto: phone management, maintenance of patient charts,orderingand stocking of all materials necessary for unit operations and patient chart maintenance. The Health Unit Coordinator collaborates with nursing and medical staff as well as other hospital departments tofacilitateexcellent customer service to our patients and visitors. Shifts Available: 7:00 am u2013 7:00 pm, 7:00 pm u2013 7:00 am Status available: Full-time, Part-time, Contingent/PRN _Every Other Weekend and 3 Holidays per year_ _required_ _for Full-time and Part-time team members._ Required Qualifications: Education + High school diploma or GED. Licensure/Certification + Certification by an accredited Unit Secretary/Health Unit Coordinator training course or equivalent working experience. Experience + PreviousHealth Unit Coordinator/Unit Secretary working experience desired. What you will do: + Greetsall staff, physicians and visitors presenting to the department/unit with warm, friendly customer service interactions. + Facilitatesinquiries from family to patient related to their delivery status or condition whilemaintaining patient confidentiality at all times. + Maintains and communicatesan accuratepatient roster/census and available ready beds andassistsin the assignment of patient rooms. Initiates andmaintainsthepatientrecord.This includes preparing the chart for procedure/surgery, stuffing forms, filingreportsand thinning the chart accordingly. + Transcribesall physician orders via the computer system or manually when necessary. + Communicatesall stat orders to the patient's nurse.(Evidenced by RNCM feedback) Enters hospital charge data into the computer system toassistwith preparation of patient charges.(Evidenced by charge report) Click Here (tolearn more about the benefits,cultureand career development opportunities available to you at Trinity Health Michigan.
