Description We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Controller to join our client's team in Alexandria, Louisiana. In this position, you will oversee financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies. This role requires exceptional leadership abilities, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage a diverse range of accounting functions within a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities: u2022 Oversee financial reporting processes to ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports in compliance with GAAP and internal standards. u2022 Maintain and update the general ledger to reflect accurate financial data. u2022 Supervise day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, inventory accounting, and general accounting, ensuring efficiency and accuracy. u2022 Manage inventory accounting tasks, including physical inventory checks and maintaining fixed asset ledgers. u2022 Develop and maintain cost accounting processes within the manufacturing facility. u2022 Assist in preparing annual budgets and monthly forecast updates for the plant. u2022 Lead and support quality initiatives and Responsible Care programs to align with organizational goals. u2022 Provide leadership and direction to accounting staff, fostering process improvements and team development. u2022 Analyze financial and operational data to enhance company performance and support decision-making. u2022 Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and internal controls. Requirements u2022 Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in cost accounting. u2022 At least 2 years of experience at the Controller level, preferably in a manufacturing environment. u2022 Demonstrated ability to manage and supervise both staff and clerical employees. u2022 Strong analytical skills to interpret financial and operational data effectively. u2022 Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP systems. u2022 Excellent written and verbal communication skills. u2022 Highly motivated, innovative, and capable of making strategic decisions. u2022 CPA certification and/or advanced degrees are highly desirable.
