Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Covington, Louisiana. In this short-term contract to permanent position, you will handle key accounting functions and contribute to the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations. Responsibilities: u2022 Prepare and review journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting. u2022 Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to support month-end and year-end processes. u2022 Oversee accounts receivable activities, including billing and collections. u2022 Process and code invoices, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. u2022 Manage vendor invoices and collaborate with external vendors to resolve discrepancies. u2022 Conduct corporate tax-related tasks and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. u2022 Assist with financial reporting and analysis to support decision-making. u2022 Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting operations. u2022 Coordinate with team members to ensure timely completion of accounting duties. u2022 Support audits by providing required documentation and information. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in corporate tax, journal entries, and general ledger management. u2022 Strong knowledge of accounts receivable processes, including billing and collections. u2022 Proficiency in coding and processing vendor invoices accurately. u2022 Familiarity with working alongside external vendors and resolving invoice-related issues. u2022 Ability to handle financial reporting and analysis tasks effectively. u2022 Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. u2022 Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and external parties. u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
