This job was posted by : For moreinformation, please see: of Responsibilities:The Material Handler is responsible for ensuring each plastic injectionmolding machine has the primary raw and WIP (work-in progress) materialsrequired to run according to the production schedule. The MaterialHandlers are also responsible for taking finished goods to and from themanufacturing area. They must be able to work under pressure, be able tocommunicate with the team proficiently, and be accountable to uphold a5S standard in the manufacturing area.Essential Functions:Uses production schedules to identify, verify, and transport requestedraw materials, equipment, or processing materials to designatedlocations.Move materials to/from storage to designated areas using a forkliftwithin production facility to maintain acceptable material levels atmachine hoppers and unload rail cars of raw materials to appropriatesilos.Prioritize tasks & work on multiple projects at any time whilemaintaining cleanliness & general appearance of storage andManufacturing areas using 5S.Uses protective materials and strapping equipment to protect & secureloads; once delivered, removes strapping & wrapping, then safelydisposes of waste materials in designated containers or areas.Maintain control of material & colorant levels to ensure all equipmentis ready & available to run & perform material & colorant change oversas dictated by the production schedule. Consolidate colorant toeliminate waste & ensure proper spect material & equipment for possible deficiencies to ensureproducts are consistent & adhere to the HMS Quality Standards.Maintain forklift checkout sheets and report equipment issues tosupervisor.Perform daily LDR (let down ratio) audits to ensure all machines arerunning with the appropriate colorant ratio & report any issues.Maintain & demonstrate knowledge of safe operating practices includingthe wearing of the proper PPE.For changeovers, certify that presses have been supplied as required andthat all materials from the previous jobs have been removed.Other duties as assigned.
