Come join our team POSITION PURPOSE: Mid-level architect responsible for leading small to medium-sized projects or assisting with tasks on larger projects. Works with minimal oversight to support architectural design development, documentation, and coordination. Focuses on quality of work performed and supports project scope and client service objectives. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: u2022 Assist in coordinating with team members to execute project scope, schedules, and budgets in conformance with the project and customer requirements. u2022 Research codes, guidance, policies, procedures, processes, criteria, and applicable laws and regulations to support technical recommendations. u2022 Perform field investigations and document findings with written summaries and photographs. u2022 Coordinate with client, team members, leadership, project stakeholders, and regulatory agencies. u2022 Review technical reports, RFIs, designs, and submittals for compliance. u2022 Provide technical support for design and construction submittals and field inspections. u2022 Provide technical support for the review of the commissioning plan, design and construction submittals, and field observations. u2022 Provide technical support for construction field activities. u2022 Assist with permit applications, design calculations, and report writing. u2022 Document project communications and participate in client/user interviews. u2022 Participate in coordination meetings, site field investigations and client / user interviews to identify project needs, constraints and opportunities. u2022 Support design development and production of construction documents. u2022 Use computer programs and spreadsheets for design analysis and presentations. u2022 Assist with architectural design evaluations, reports, analyses, and designs for facilities. ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: + Some minor project-related travel may be required, 10-20%. + Working longer than normal weeks might be required on rare occasions, 10%. + Willingness to attend training and acquire certifications to support the LBYD Federal agenda, such as ICD-705 SCIF/SAPF or USACE CQM. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: + Bachelor's degree from an accredited college curriculum in Architecture or related field. + 3-5 years design experience. + RA u2013 U.S. Registered Architect or on track to registration Skills and Abilities: u2022 Working knowledge of architectural design principles. u2022 Understanding of technical concepts, principles, and practices applicable to multi-discipline engineering project design and construction. u2022 Knowledge of construction practices and methods, and construction management. u2022 Detail-oriented with ability to meet deadlines and follow schedules. u2022 Effective communication skills in English, both oral and written. u2022 Ability to read and interpret contract documents and technical drawings. u2022 Experience in preparing correspondence and written reports. u2022 Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams). u2022 Familiarity with and ability to learn with increasing proficiency: Revit, AutoCAD, and architectural design software (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator). u2022 US citizen, be able to travel, obtain a passport and/or security clearance, if required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods. Must be able to use a computer for extended periods. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Work generally conducted indoors in an office setting with occasional travel to project sites. May assist field engineers during construction.
