Express Employment is recruiting for Civil & Excavation Estimator Location: Cheyenne, WyJob Type: Full-Time Pay rate: $20.00-$25.00hr DOE to start Experience Required: 2-5+ The Role:We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Excavation Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing precise and comprehensive cost estimates for earthwork, grading, and underground utility projects. This role requires a strong understanding of project scope, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. Key Responsibilities: Review blueprints, plans, and specifications to understand the full scope of each project. Perform detailed material takeoffs and quantify labor, equipment, and time requirements. Research and solicit competitive quotes from subcontractors and material vendors. Prepare detailed written proposals, budgets, and cost estimates for clients and project managers. Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information, trends, and data. Attend pre-bid meetings and collaborate closely with project teams. Ensure all estimates comply with safety and regulatory standards, including OSHA excavation slope requirements. Qualifications and Skills: Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as an estimator for construction, earthwork, civil, or excavation projects. Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required. Experience with industry-specific software such as AGTEK, AutoCAD, HCSS, or similar estimating software is strongly preferred. Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of civil construction processes, materials, and underground utilities (storm & sanitary sewer, water). Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is a plus. Soft Skills: Strong mathematical and analytical skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
