Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll and Benefits Manager to join our team in Chicago Heights, Illinois. In this role, you will oversee payroll processing, tax reporting, and compliance with federal and state regulations. You will also collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate payroll operations while providing support for benefits administration and contract implementation. Responsibilities: u2022 Process bi-weekly payroll, ensuring employee records are accurately maintained and checks are prepared for distribution- union payroll u2022 Manage direct deposit transactions, including transmitting information to banks and verifying accuracy. u2022 Calculate and verify payroll deductions such as taxes, retirement contributions, and overtime compensation. u2022 Administer tax levies and wage garnishments, maintaining communication with external legal entities and agencies. u2022 Prepare and distribute payroll-related tax returns, W-2 forms, and other required documentation. u2022 Reconcile payments for withholding taxes and ensure compliance with payroll-related regulations. u2022 Coordinate with Human Resources and other departments to implement staff changes and contract terms. u2022 Conduct research and analysis to address payroll-related issues and improve processes. u2022 Prepare quarterly, fiscal, and year-end payroll reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness. u2022 Assist in contract negotiations and provide interpretation support for payroll-related matters. This role will offer a salary between 65K and 80K with medical, dental, vision and a generous PTO- 20 vacation days plus additional sick days.
