Founded in 1999, Essen provides care in all five boroughs of New York City, primarily focusing on the Bronx.The Cleaner / Environmental Services Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment throughout Essen Health Care facilities. This role plays a critical part in infection control and patient satisfaction by ensuring all clinical and non-clinical areas meet healthcare cleanliness standards.Key ResponsibilitiesClean and disinfect exam rooms, offices, waiting areas, restrooms, and common spacesFollow established infection control and safety protocolsProperly handle and dispose of medical and non-medical wasteRefill supplies such as soap, paper towels, and sanitizersOperate cleaning equipment and use approved cleaning products safelyReport maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortagesMaintain confidentiality and professionalism in all patient care areasSupport terminal cleaning and deep cleaning as neededHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredPrevious cleaning or environmental services experience (healthcare preferred)Knowledge of proper cleaning chemicals and infection control practicesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong attention to detail and reliabilityAbility to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbsEssen Health Careis proud to be an equal-opportunity employer, and we seek candidates who desire to work in and serve an ethnically diverse population.
