Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (RN) The Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (RN) is a skilled and compassionate healthcare professional responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients recovering from illness, injury, or surgical procedures. This role requires strong clinical judgment, patience, adaptability, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team. The Rehab RN promotes functional recovery, patient independence, and safe transitions of care. Essential Duties and Responsibilities u2022 Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized rehabilitation care plans. u2022 Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including functional abilities, mobility levels, and medical history. u2022 Administer medications, therapies, and treatments as prescribed. u2022 Monitor patient progress and responses to rehabilitation interventions. u2022 Collaborate with physical, occupational, and speech therapists to support the interdisciplinary care plan. u2022 Assist patients with mobility training, ADLs, and safe use of assistive devices. u2022 Educate patients and families on therapy plans, safety protocols, and home-care instructions. u2022 Document all assessments, interventions, and patient progress in the electronic health record (EHR). u2022 Ensure adherence to infection control, safety, and quality standards. u2022 Support patient advocacy, autonomy, and confidentiality throughout the rehabilitation process. Minimum Requirements u2022 Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. u2022 Minimum of one year of professional nursing experience; rehabilitation experience preferred. u2022 Completion of Amergisu2019 Competency Program (if applicable). u2022 Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred). u2022 TB screening and health clearance as required by contract or regulation. u2022 Compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. u2022 Successful completion of new-hire orientation and rehabilitation-specific training. u2022 Understanding of patient privacy requirements and HIPAA regulations. u2022 Strong communication skills and proficiency in English. u2022 Basic computer literacy. u2022 Must be at least 18 years old.
