Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Responsibilities Staff Psychologist serving the General Domiciliary providing psychological services including diagnostic assessments, risk assessments, admissions assessments, psychotherapy (individual and group), psychoeducational groups, and treatment planning. Major duties include, but are not limited to: Provides a full range of psycho-diagnostic services including assessment and using the most appropriate psychotherapeutic techniques in providing quality care to patients served within General Domiciliary Services. Performs specialized evaluations for veterans with psychiatric and substance use disorders, and/or in need of behavioral management or contingency plan in a General Domiciliary setting. Provides a full range of therapeutic interventions including individual therapy, group therapy, and psycho-education classes. Best practices, practice guidelines and evidence-based treatment protocols are utilized to the extent feasible in all therapeutic interventions. Serves as a consultant to the Nursing Home Care and Acute Psychiatric Units, and provides input regarding psychological needs, dementia screening and behavior management. Provides clinical supervision to psychology interns, practicum students, psychiatry residents, and other clinicians. Completes compensation and pension evaluation for the full range of mental disorders, including PTSD, as assigned. Other duties as assigned. Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.
