Description We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our team in Opelousas, Louisiana. This is a long-term contract position where you will play a key role in supporting legal operations, particularly in plaintiff-side civil litigation and personal injury cases. The ideal candidate will excel in managing multiple case files, drafting legal documents, and ensuring prompt and accurate communication with clients and stakeholders. Responsibilities: u2022 Open case files, issue Letters of Representation, and confirm insurance coverage promptly after assignment. u2022 Draft and prepare settlement demands and oversee settlement disbursement processes. u2022 E-file legal documents in federal court and coordinate schedules for depositions and mediations. u2022 Maintain consistent progress on case files, ensuring no unnecessary delays in communication or action. u2022 Conduct legal research and case management using tools like Westlaw and other legal technologies. u2022 Manage a high volume of personal injury and auto accident cases, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in handling. u2022 Prepare complaints and pleadings based on case reports, demonstrating proficiency in fast and accurate document drafting. u2022 Provide comprehensive case management support from initiation to resolution under the guidance of an experienced attorney. u2022 Collaborate effectively with attorneys and other team members to ensure seamless case progress. Requirements u2022 Proven experience as a Paralegal or Legal Secretary specializing in plaintiff-side civil litigation, personal injury, or auto accident cases. u2022 Ability to efficiently handle multiple case files with minimal supervision and a sense of urgency. u2022 Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to provide focused support to clients. u2022 Familiarity with federal e-filing procedures and legal calendaring systems. u2022 Proficient in legal research tools such as Westlaw and comfortable with technology-enabled office environments. u2022 Fast and accurate typing skills with exceptional attention to detail. u2022 Experience in trial preparation, discovery processes, and deposition coordination. u2022 Knowledge of case management software and personal injury law.
