Parowan City is hiring a Part-Time Customer Service Specialist. This position will be 20-25 hours/week. **Summary** Primary function is to provide service to the residents of Parowan City. Will perform a variety of office/clerical duties, as well as providing communication to the public through the Parowan City website, social media, and the Parowan Newsletter. **Supervision** Works under the general supervision of the City Treasurer. **Essential Functions** Serves as administrative office support - answers phones and helps walk-in customers at the front counter. Helps submit work orders to the public works and electric departments. Communication responsibilities include web site administration, posting updates and information on Parowan social media, and creating the city newsletter which goes out six (6) times a year. Serves as business licensing clerk. Assists in sending out emergency notices. Provides aide to the City Treasurer and City Recorder as needed. *Performs other duties as assigned.* **Minimum Qualifications** **Education and Experience:** A. Graduation from high school; AND B. Experience in customer service, accounts receivable, office management, or another related field preferred C. Must have strong people skills, initiative, and the ability to work independently as a self-starter **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:** Must have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Must have a working knowledge of basic cash handling, bookkeeping and accounting, general office skills and practices; computer accounting applications and various software programs; operation of standard office equipment, interpersonal communication skills and telephone etiquette; public relations. General knowledge of office practices and procedures. Must be flexible enough to work additional hours as needed.
