Sabey operates with a long-term mindset—building facilities, careers, and communities that last.About this roleThe Data Center Operations Technician is a hands-on role responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation of a 24/7 data center campus that includes both technical and administrative spaces. The facility features state-of-the-art redundant power and environmental systems, requiring attention to detail, strong situational awareness, and a commitment to operational excellence.Reporting to the Data Center Assistant Operations Manager, this role works closely with technicians, engineers, and external partners to maintain uptime, respond to alarms, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure a clean, safe, and well-organized operating environment.This role is well suited for someone with general maintenance or technical aptitude who wants to build a long-term career in data center operations with exposure to critical infrastructure and clear paths for advancement.Your contribution will likely bePerforming routine preventive maintenance on data center electrical and mechanical equipmentIdentifying, troubleshooting, and addressing equipment issues to minimize downtimeCollaborating with vendors and specialists for complex repairs and equipment replacementsMonitoring environmental, power, and security systemsResponding promptly to alarms and alerts, investigating root causes, and taking corrective actionDocumenting incidents, resolutions, and lessons learnedExecuting scheduled inspections, cleaning, testing, and maintenance activitiesAssisting with planned equipment upgrades while minimizing operational disruptionMaintaining accurate equipment and asset recordsAssisting with inventory tracking and ordering replacement partsKeeping equipment rooms, racks, cable trays, and work areas clean, labeled, and organizedCoordinating with external service providers for maintenance, installations, and repairsEnsuring work meets Sabey standards for safety, quality, and performanceFollowing established safety, security, and operational proceduresParticipating in disaster recovery and business continuity activitiesUpholding Sabey’s information security policiesSupporting senior technicians and engineers on projects and maintenance effortsContributing to a collaborative, learning-focused operations teamLeveraging AI tools and automation platforms to streamline documentation, communication, and trackingEmbodying Sabey core values and performing other duties as assignedExperience you will bring to the teamHigh School diploma or GED requiredGeneral maintenance experience or demonstrated technical aptitudeAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionStrong time management skills and ability to prioritize in a 24/7 environmentWorking knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams, with the ability to learn new systemsClear written and verbal communication skillsWillingness to respond to on-call situationsCuriosity and willingness to learn emerging technologies, including AI-enabled toolsWork environment and physical requirementsAbility to work swing shifts and night shifts, this role will have an 8am to 8pm or 8pm to 8am shift after the first 90 days of training.Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 poundsAbility to operate power toolsAbility to interface with digital tools and monitoring systemsAbility to build strong working relationships with Sabey employees, vendors, and partnersSabey’s investment in YOUSabey is committed to building an enduring, next-generation company by investing deeply in its people.
