Job Description

Introduction As a Design Intern, youu2019ll work alongside a multidisciplinary team of designers, developers, and product managers to create intuitive, accessible, and visually cohesive enterprise software experiences. Youu2019ll gain hands-on experience across the full design lifecycleu2014from research and ideation to prototyping and visual refinementu2014while contributing to real-world projects that impact users and business outcomes. Your role and responsibilities Design wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes using Figma. Refine UI components, icons, and layouts aligned with the Carbon Design System. Contribute to the development and documentation of design components and reusable assets. Collaborate with UX researchers to gather insights and validate design decisions. Apply accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and design system guidelines to all work. Participate in design critiques, brainstorming sessions, and Design Thinking workshops. Present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders, including developers and PMs. Required technical and professional expertise Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in UX Design, Visual Design, HCI, Graphic Design, or a related field. A portfolio showcasing design thinking, UI/UX skills, and visual design work. Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Illustrator, or Photoshop. Understanding of user-centered design principles, accessibility, and responsive design. Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Eagerness to learn and openness to feedback. Preferred technical and professional experience Familiarity with collaborative tools like FigJam, Miro, or Mural. Exposure to HTML/CSS or front-end development (not required, but helpful). Experience with motion design tools (e.g., After Effects, Lottie) is a plus. Understanding of metrics like engagement, retention, or conversion rates.
