As an Unarmed Security Officer, you will play an essential role in this mission and be a part of our growing organization. You willbe responsible forprotecting patients, visitors, caregivers, and hospital property by conducting regular patrols and enforcing facility policies.A caregiver in this position works Monday-Friday, 10:00pm-6:30am with rotating weekend and holiday requirements.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Protect patients,visitorsand employees by providing escorts, patrolling grounds, andeliminatingsafety hazards.Deter vandalism,theftand property abuse through routine patrols of all hospital property to include inside areas as well as all parking lots and decks.Conduct searchesofbelongings asrequired.Enforce Cleveland Clinic facility policiese.g.parking regulations, visitation policies, drug enforcement, smoking policy.Monitor facility activity on closed circuit television to be alerted to any escalating situations that may require security tervene in patient,visitorand/or staff confrontations pleteappropriate documentationof various incidents.Demonstrate understanding of emergency procedures, alarm response,evacuationand internal and external disaster plans.Follow health system and department policies and procedures with special attention to attendance and punctuality, confidentiality, dress code and display of ID badge, and plete mandatory education and trainingin order tomaintainorganization and department-specific competencies and requirements to include de-escalation training provided by department within the first 6 months of hire and asrequiredthereafter.Other duties as assigned.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:High School diploma or GEDMustpossessa valid Ohio driver’s license (VDL) andmaintaineligibility of insurability tooperatethe organizations’ vehiclesStrong interpersonal skills.Critical thinking and decisive judgment skillsCan work with minimal supervisionCan communicate in a courteous and direct mannerPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:OPOTC (Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission) approved Private Security Academy1 year ofpreviousexperience in the field of criminal justicePhysical Requirements: Typical physical demands require full body motion, physical strength and stamina sufficient to chase, apprehend and subdue criminal suspects, and respond to crisis interventions and medical emergencies.Requires extensive walking and standing for prolonged periods of time.Must have good eye/hand coordination and able to pass annual eye (with appropriate corrections) and hearing tests.Personal Protective Equipment:Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.Pay RangeMinimum hourly: $15.75Maximum hourly: $21.65The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education.
