Description We are looking for a skilled Bookkeeper to join our client in Columbus, Ohio. This contract to permanent position offers an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced, small business environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping and accounting processes, as well as proficiency in QuickBooks and payroll systems. Responsibilities: u2022 Manage accounts payable by coding invoices, entering journal entries, reconciling the general ledger, and processing weekly check runs. u2022 Handle accounts receivable tasks, including posting cash applications, preparing bank deposits, reconciling accounts, and contacting clients for overdue payments. u2022 Utilize QuickBooks software to maintain accurate financial records and generate reports. u2022 Process payroll using ADP, ensuring compliance with prevailing wage standards. u2022 Reconcile bank accounts regularly to ensure accurate financial reporting. u2022 Prepare and organize bid paperwork related to roofing projects. u2022 Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting operations and maintain efficiency. u2022 Monitor and track financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance. u2022 Assist with collections by following up on past due invoices with professionalism. u2022 Provide support in maintaining a lean and organized accounting department. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in bookkeeping and accounting practices. u2022 Proficiency with QuickBooks and ADP payroll systems. u2022 Strong knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. u2022 Familiarity with bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance. u2022 Experience handling prevailing wage payroll requirements. u2022 Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. u2022 Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members. u2022 Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a small team environment.
