The Lakes Home Care - The Lakes Home Care is hiring a Speech Therapist Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will work with patients to treat speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. Patient populations may include neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groupsResponsibilities:Assist Speech-Language Pathologists in conducting patient assessments and gathering relevant informationImplement prescribed therapeutic activities and exercises under the guidance of the Speech-Language PathologistProvide direct patient care, monitoring and documenting progress during treatment sessionsSupport the Speech-Language Pathologist in developing and modifying individualized treatment plansInstruct patients in exercises and activities to improve speech, language, and communication skillsCollaborate with the Speech-Language Pathologist to implement augmentative and alternative communication strategiesCommunicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team membersMaintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions and progressParticipate in team meetings to discuss treatment plans and patient progressSkills:Experience in pediatrics, adults and geriatrics or school settingsKnowledge of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)Familiarity with medical terminology related to speech pathologyAbility to work in critical care environmentsProficiency in patient assessment techniquesStrong case management skills - Compassionate patient care approachExperience with standardized testing proceduresPrevious experience in inpatient settingsRequirements:Current and valid state licensure or certificationStrong understanding of speech and language disorders and therapeutic techniques - Effective communication and interpersonal skillsCommitment to maintaining licensure and participating in professional development activities The Lakes Benefits:Competitive salaryFlexible work hours where you create your own schedule
