Our client just north of Grand Rapids near the Grant MI area, is seeking a skilled and experienced Controls Engineer to join their team. In this pivotal role, you'll be at the forefront of developing and optimizing electrical systems, as well as ensuring seamless integration of automation processes. If you have a knack for solving complex technical problems, driving continuous improvement, and managing large-scale projects, this is the perfect opportunity for you. You'll be entrusted with the responsibility to lead the design and implementation of state-of-the-art electrical systems, while contributing to the company's overall goals of efficiency, safety, and innovation. Responsibilities:-Develop, design, and implement electrical systems and processes to enhance manufacturing efficiency.-Lead technical projects, defining scope, organizing tasks, and managing project timelines and budgets.-Troubleshoot and resolve issues with manufacturing system hardware/software, controls, and equipment.-Recommend improvements for systems to enhance performance, reduce costs, and meet industry standards.-Oversee and direct the maintenance of technical documentation for all electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.-Write and edit machine control programs to integrate with process equipment, ensuring safe operations and reducing risk of malfunctions.-Champion continuous improvement initiatives to maintain compliance with industry standards, such as automotive specifications.-Ensure machine safety and equipment functionality, focusing on process optimization and safety protocols. Qualifications:-2+yrs of experience programming PLCs-Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.-Strong technical expertise in electrical systems, automation, and process controls.-Proven experience with designing and managing electrical and automation projects.-Ability to troubleshoot complex systems, resolve technical problems, and implement effective solutions. Preferences:-Experience in the automotive manufacturing-Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.-Prior experience with project management, including budgeting and cost control.-Advanced certifications in automation or controls engineering are advantageous.
